Will an Apple Retail store upgrade your cpu? What's the cost to have this done without a warranty void?
Also,

About 30 years ago, his holiness Ronald Reagan fired over 11 thousand Air Traffic Controllers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Air_Traffic_Controllers_Organization_(1968)) for going on strike. One of their most important demands was for a 32 hour week, so that they would not be falling asleep on the job.
Damn straight I want these guys awake! ATC is a very stressful job. Although didn't they announce a change in America yesterday?
(PS that thing in your sig about the pen and pencil is partly an urban legend.)

But it's been more than one day. Joe Hewitt resigned Wednesday (http://twitter.com/joehewitt/status/5631765190).
Regardless its still within a short period.

I never said my actions were morally right. I'll admit that my actions are probably very immoral, and ethically wrong. The simple fact is I don't care about how people view my morality or ethics. Why should I care what people think of me. I never said it bothers me that you guys are not agreeing with me, all I said is that I find it laughable.

This is the same attitude that people like Bernie Madoff, Kenneth Lay, etc had as they totally scammed thousands of people out of billions of dollars.

The problem with Greenpeace is that they can't get over themselves. It doesn't matter to these self-important selfish ideologues if they are right or wrong; as long as they are advocating a particular position, they feel justified to take any action (legal or illegal) to support that position. Also, they don't care if they interfere with the rights of other exhibitors, companies who paid quite a bit of money to participate in the Expo to meet with customers.
I'm glad that Greenpeace was ejected from the Expo--it is exactly what should have happened, as it should to any rube or hooligan who can't follow the rules.

Minimum wage needs to be increased, national healthcare needs to be implemented and tax holes closed. This country would be in a lot better shape as far as it's lower classes go, imo.
Min wage should be 10/ hour.. possibly 11 with the way this country is heading...

I have a Rev D MacBook Air (11") and also think the Ivy Bridge will be a worthwhile upgrade. There is now no reason why that one shouldn't have USB 3.0, or Thunderbolt, plus Ivy Bridge, unlike Sandy Bridge, will have a GPU as fast as the NVIDIA 320m.
Amen to that  As well as official support for OpenCL.
So when will Ivy Bridge be released?

Sure, they wandered away from their stall to the entrance to hand out leaflets, but so did half or dozen or so other stallholders. The fact remains that I haven't heard of anyone else being ejected because of this. And it makes you concerned that they were singled out because of the message they were trying to convey.
Okay... I'm not quite done, you can get back to your whining in a moment.
See that area emphasized above? That's the exact thing that causes all our bickering in but the U.S. and the U.K.. The idea that somehow it's okay to violate contracts, laws or even social norms just because you agree with the reason for breaking said rules. If you have a problem with the rules, get them changed, until you do, obey them. There's a reason it's called "civilization" - we all have to be civil for it to work.
Okay. Now I'm really done.

Do any of these suits ever actually get resolved?
Sure they do. Its basically mutual destruction idea. So Samsung at the golf course will tell their counter part at Apple I will give you 20% off our latest SSD and it will all be nice again in the tech world or at least until the end of the week.

I thought the Yonah was Socket 775. It's not? :confused:No, Yonah is a variant of Socket 479. The Pentium-M used it too. Yonah has the same number of pins but there placement is slightly different.
If I bought one of these, could I put it in my Intel iMac and have it work? No, the Sockets aren't compatible.

OH NO, don't say that. Now we'll be inundated with 600 posts of "I want a mid tower Mac, headless, for $1200.00"
Whoops. Although I'd love to see a mid-tower Mac, I don't think it'll happen. Ever.
Perhaps we'll see a genuine Photoshop competitor? A proper editing suite of some sort (either that, or real editing functions integrated into Aperture)?
OK, now I'm just clutching at straws :o .

I just hope they don't stick iSights in all the displays.
I know, it would be nice, but have you ever worked in a government installation before? No photographic devices of any kind. Co-workers at my last job are stuck with PowerBooks because they can't bring a MacBook (Pro) into any area that contains classified material, and many of them have their offices in such locations. If they couldn't buy new Cinema display I'm sure they'd be even more annoyed.
Sucked for some that had to find cell phones without a camera, too.

My favorite was a few years ago when Apple tried to stop New York (aka the Big Apple) from using this logo for their "Green New York" environmental project.
Apple claimed it would "seriously injure the reputation which it has established for its goods and services."
.
nice. you always post the most interesting stuff.

Not completely on topic but...
Is it possible to stream audio and video from a mac to the iPad? If so, is the feature included or does it require an app?

I think we can call this confirmed. The Chicago Tribune has a pic of Bono and Oprah using the red Nano on the front page of their website - http://www.chicagotribune.com/
A further story by the Trib says this will happen on Friday (tomorrow) - http://www.chicagotribune.com/technology/chi-061012red-ipod-story,1,3682862.story?coll=chi-news-hed

I can't wait to see what people will come up with for Thunderbolt. I am disappointed that Apple hasn't released a cable for your iPhone/iPad though =/
It would be pointless until an iPad/iPhone came out that supports Thunderbolt. The current dock connector is limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
