I'm guessing you're talking about folding@home...
Yes, the non-GUI version is muc, much faster. Wait until you finish this WU, then switch. Simple as that.
llama :)
Thank you for your wisdom mr. llama :)

We were experiencing some sluggishness yesterday and briefly took the front page down in order to reboot the server right at the time you reported the downtime. That seemed to have perked things up, but obviously we want to avoid having to reboot things. :)
THE server? You mean the entire MacRumors site is run off of a single server? Color me impressed.

I'v been using Windows since my whole life untill 2003 when I switched to Linux. Then used linux for 2 years and when It was time for a new computer I was gonna order a dell laptop. So I found the one I like and ordered it, but the next day I got a e-mail saying that my credit card was rejected...So I went to school and my friend told me about the Mac Mini and I needed a new computer for Video Editin mostly. SO decided to order that with a sexy 17' Samsun LCD. I will Never use windows, but I will have Linux as my second computer, but Mac as the primary one :D

What about the apple credit 160 days same-as-cash thing? If it is what it seems that would be all I need. Am I missing something here like absurd interest? gee I hate being naive.

I tried it out and it doesn't work for me - I get some error about an SQL variable. I'll stick with Navicat for now I think.

They had 500 t-shirts. I got there at 7:15 and I was # 504. No T for me.:(
I was #407 in line at 6:51 PM. Got a shirt (and a nice one it is).
Staff handled everything smoothly. Very upbeat and cordial, especially the key personnel (managers, etc). There were dedicated lines for those just buying Leopard; the whole process took less than ten minutes. Went downstairs to Starbucks and saw three MacBook users installing their new OS (the mall offers free WiFi through Bright House / Roadrunner).

I have ClickToFlash enabled and haven't clicked on any video. Yet, the scrolling stops when it hits the edge of the video.
That doesn't happen for me. The scrolling continues as it should, even during the momentum phase of the scroll.

Screenaid should be in the Hall of Shame.. Maybe yours was a beginners luck purchase but keep ordering and they'll get you. Google screenaid before you order anything. Several of my colleagues in the industry have blacklisted them

Is a powermac g4 a good mac starter computer?
I think so, however, it depends on what you're using it for.

I would like to think you'd be brought to justice for your crime but more likely you'd just get off with a poultry fine when you go up before the beak.He would get of easily. That rooster had it coming.

I just called the post office and they said ~$8 to 10 US to ship it First Class international, so you can sortof figure that into the price.
[below does not imply anything about fpar above, I thought I'd just be upfront about this since international shipping is being discussed]
Also, for any international lurkers in the thread, I'm not interested in marking the item in a way to dodge customs--you'll have to work that out yourself. I don't know if that applies for First Class International, but I thought I should just say that outright.

Just so you know there are no military applications that benefit from this.
Well, that's not true either, weapons modeling comes to mind for one, so does mapping and GIS work, nuclear physics, both modeling (though, like MD, most likely done on a cluster, not local) and post-process...

From the quotes in the article, it sounds more like the Samsung spokesperson was answering a direct question. At the very least, there's nothing in the quoted text to suggest anyone "throwing down the gauntlet". I suggest that incorrect metaphors are saved for sports coverage from now on. Now how do I contact the International Business Times?

If you donate directly to the organizations involved (Red Cross etc) I can't imagine they'll be taking a cut...can they??
They live off of the donations themselves. It may be called Administative costs or something else but they take a cut for themselves. I think 15% is about average.

i want to be able to hit my machine remotely and get to ~/Documents. i've gotten htaccess working in /Library/WebServer/Documents and made a symbolic link (ln -s) from there to my Documents directory.
% pwd
/Library/WebServer/Documents
% ls -l D*
lrwxrwxr-x 1 root admin 20 Jul 8 00:05 Documents@ -> /Users/zim/Documents
%
when i try to browse to Documents, i get "Forbidden / You don't have permission to access /Documents/ on this server."
i stuck my .htaccess file into that directory, but same thing.
any ideas?

I like Iconoclasm due to the fact if i'm ever tired of looked at the standard icon arrangement on the springboard, I can easily switch it up ;)

Maybe, I've never gone to MacWorld even though I live in San Jose. Only hurdle for me would be taking a day off of work, although i've got plenty of vacation time. Not much of a drinker myself, and not too familiar with SF. Last time I went to meet-up with some people in SF, we ended up in a "massage" parlor.:o:D

Did you try it without reloading anything?
Not yet because I actually use my iPad during the week. I'll try that over the weekend. I just can't believe I am the only one having this problem.
