I've been using Keynote lately for work presentations. It's annoying not to be able to give them to PC co-workers. PPT such a piece of crap, and i'd like to be able to use keynote more, but sadly it's not super useful anywhere other than my computer.

I use Keynote to create presentations for other users on our otherwise Windoze network. I tried exporting to Flash, but most of the nice looking stuff gets replaced by dissolves. I now export to Quicktime using custom settings depending on application. You still get the basic interactivity- and the good looks. (PPT users are still doing their red on blue ghastly designs with slide in/out transitions!)

This is simply not accurate I'm afraid.
The 27" ACD works absolutely fine with the Apple OEM 5770 upgrade card with MDP, also with the 5870. After all, why would Apple sell these graphic cards if they didn't work with their only display? Further, my 5870 and 27" ACD get along like a house on fire. Note that you have to buy the Apple cards, not just a standard PC card like you seem to be implying
The first generation of ATI 5-series cards for PC didn't actually didn't follow the DisplayPort port specifications properly, and do have compatability issues with Apple products. That being said, your absolutely right peskaa, the issues were fixed with Apple OEM cards (but ppl who want to throw in any PC card just beware the 5- series cards are hit and miss on compatibility).

while I also suspect the UE will be the best of the bunch, how long have you used the A Jays? Most higher end headphones have to burn in the drivers, which usually takes several dozen hours, before maximum sound quality is achieved
I can assure you, at $70, the A Jays Fours are no where near "higher end".
My default set of IEMs is the Klipsch x10i. I have yet to find anything as punchy and detailed and simultaneously comfortable. They put the A Jays Fours to shame.

Okay thank you for your help I'll try SD...I also heard about CCC, i wonder which is the best to use. I'll do a little more research. I have a lot of iTunes music and i dont want to lose it.
Maybe the best thing I should do is wait until I get the iMac first, transfer everything then give it away. Or better yet take it to a apple genius and let them do it for me...??
Make sure you securely wipe the drive before you give it away. If its an SSD, you need to encrypt the volume before wiping it. Otherwise a 7 way random re-write should do the trick. (It will take a while to perform.)

I've recently noticed- some iLife apps are not working. The biggest concern is iPhoto - I've opened up iPhoto '11 (iLife 11) but it says:

However, and here's the catch - iDVD, iMovie, working. Just a couple apps are not working (I can't check every single one for compatibility). Is this a universal problem? How do I fix it? I have iLife '10 and '09 if that helps but I haven't checked if they work. Either way, I would like to use iLife '11 over either older versions... Thanks!

kinds of looks like any page with tons of flash games on it.
Sorry but not going to go with the standard Apple coping crap here. Apple copies a lay out that was out for those web pages with flash games.
On top of that it looks a lot like the game folder on Windows Vista/7. On top of that MS called apple on saying App Store was generic looks like they are making the point even bigger now.

i downloaded fah for 10.5, i have 10.6, than system preferences, folding, start (with anonymus), and i have no screen saver or window application, why dosnt it? how do i get it started? :confused:

Things made for vinyl don't sound right digital, similarly things made for digital sound stupid on vinyl (though many artists still sell vinyls in this way). At least this has been my experience.

Do you still live at home with your parents, or are you away at school? If you rent an apartment you should be able to buy renters insurance and purchase additional coverage for your gear. I did this while I was away at school and renting an apartment. It was only a few extra bucks a month for the extra coverage. If you still live with your parents they can buy additional coverage on their property insurance.

I followed instructions that I came across on the internet to reinstall mac os x as I just got an iMac second hand.
Was not given the option to 'Erase and install' and instead followed through the install and now things are not working properly.
I noted down that it was OS X 10.1.5 now it is OS X 10.1.2.
When I start up it only shows the display and the time in the top right corner. Will not display dock or finder.
Please help! What can I do to fix this?

I like. Since I've got the Speck PixelSkin HD right now I wouldn't mind if it's bulky. If the kickstand is removable and the price is reasonable I'd get one. Really feeling the black/red colorway.

I've never got too into Cocos2D but I can at least throw a hint your way, but hopefully someone else can come by and offer more help. There is probably a much simpler way in Cocos to do this than what I am about to say:
Ok after writing a long winded reply I found a site that does a better job at explaining it (and has pictures!). The concept is important (and useful even if Cocos does have some sort of built in method to handle it).

I would also highly suggest if you do have to do this manually, use a bounding circle (or rectangle) first to check for collisions, and if you find one, THEN do per pixel collision detection. It will help performance greatly.

i take it your taking static routes you could bond them together but thats hard and kinda pointlesss id get rid of the dsl conection stick the gige line into the router bridge that to wifi and wire in the pc/mac to the same router done
Try that with a router which has a 100MBit ethernet switch. Everything seems to work fine by doing nothing, though.
However as far as I can see, Mac OS X manages itself, and my bandwidth even increased a little bit - problem solved.

I have had no problems pushing a Vizio 47" LCD, or a LG 37" LCD with my 5 year old Mac mini, 3 year old MacBook (both in sig), or my girlfriend's '09 13"MBP.
