1) Accuracy of rumors based on previous performance is usually mentioned in the news item. Very few credible rumors come from the forums.
2) Why should one opinion be "weighted" more than another? It's an opinion.
3/4) What good reason do you have for doing this? Various rating and reputation systems have been suggested multiple times. They don't add anything of value to the site other than turning things into a popularity contest.
It would be a very fun way expand the website and has the following benefits:
1) Rewards users with a metric recognized in the community based upon their accuracy on past rumors.
2) Lends weight to opinions within a discussion.
3) Based completely on users opting-in - no one is required to vote to participate in a discussion or put their reputation on the line.
4) Can be used with the system of site contributors, potentially allowing them to reset negative popularity (plus/minus) or reset their points (bidding system) each year.

Have gone through several weeks of Outlook 2007 reporting that the PST file is damaged, for no apparent reason. Have tried letting Outlook PST Repair (http://www.repair-outlook-pst-file.com) itself with no success and also leaving Outlook open so that the program shuts down in a more controlled manner with Vista SP1 on closing down the PC for that session, again with no success. Running SCANPST has provided patchy success (50/50) and slows things down whilst running. What seems to have worked is setting Outlook to Send/Recieve on Exit (via 'Tools', 'Options', 'Mail Setup', 'Send/Receive', tick 'Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting').

What is concerning to me is that I wrote a comment, "nice affiliate link" in that thread. And my comment was deleted. not flagged or edited -- deleted.
I would imagine that your comment was deleted simply because it was off-topic for that thread and could easily have led to a derailment of the discussion. But I haven't looked at the case specifically (leaving right now, so don't have time), and yes, I can see how you might think we were trying to hide something when in actuality our moderators were just trying to keep the discussion on track.

I could build a pc, but that's not my point. And I had a dream about one last night, so the gods have spoken.

iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G absolutely kills it. Everything becomes incredibly slow. Apple should never have let the iPhone 3G get the 4.0 update..
I and others who have had this symptom on the 3G iPhone, did a set up as new phone with iOS 4.1 and since have no problems. You will want to save any pics on the camera roll.

I'm guessing most of you guys/gals are based in America?
It could prove tricky to get a time that suits both sides.
Would 9:30pm GMT be okay? Or later?

I'll be there. I want the black...
Hi. I will be in town on launch day from Dallas. Does anyone know what entrance to line up at pre-7:00 am? Also curious as to what your experience was with lines at the 3GS launch. Any other tips are appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. Does anyone know what the max # you can buy is? I would like to buy one as an upgrade for my wife, too, but she probably won't be able to accompany. It would be an upgrade and not a new line.

I purchased the peachpit press books intending to do the Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA 10.6) exams but havent had time to do so until now. From what iv'e read about discontinuing of xserve and apple looking to move away from this area is it really worth my time and money doing this certification anymore? I want some apple certification to my name. Im wondering if I should just do the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) 10.6. its only one exam as opposed to four. Any advice would be appreciated thanks

If I was thinking about the Candyshell I'd just get the nude. Nice case.
Anyway, I'm liking the Rebel a lot. What am I in for with that one?

Do you know where salmonella comes from? Do you think salmonella has enough bioavailable contents on the iPad to reproduce? :D

I have to buy a new tripod too as the old one, which was ok for my old camera won't support the weight of the new one. It's almost exactly the same weight as the 7D. You didn't mention how much you want to spend, but I have two friends who both have the Manfrotto 190Cx Carbon Fibre Q90 (http://www.manfrotto.com/product/8374.58969.82552.0.0/190CXPRO4/_/190Cx_Carbon_Fibre_Q90_4-section_Tripod) with the 4-section legs for travel, which is the one I'm considering. They've been very happy with them. There is a 3-section leg model as well. The centre column has a quick lift and folds over sideways, great for macros etc. I don't know what head I'm going to get yet.

The final step to the cursed iBook's cleansing has been completed...
After deleteing the iTunes folder... and iTunes- and then reinstalling it and ripping his music from his iPod, things seem to be back to normal.
That... as well as the archive and install seemed to clean up things.
I and the iBook owner thank you for your time, talent, and typing.
